Does Twendly know who you are, and what you contribute to the conversation?
Currently Twendly has indexed 167, 000 people and is adding to that fast. Don’t wait for the machine to find you. Head over there now and sign in with your Twitter credentials.
The site offers a very different type of Search – who talks about xxxxxxxx ? The Search can be a topic, hashtag, Twitter handle etc. Results come back with people profiles.
It looks a fascinating to use, and definitely one of the places to be “found”
From the sites FAQ:-
“Twendly is a different type of search. Instead of returning documents (or individual Tweets) it returns the people who Tweet about the search terms the most.
We think this offers a lot of advantages for a tool like Twitter. You quickly see who the most relevant people are, the histogram graph shows the frequency and length of time they’ve been tweeting about it, and you can drill down to see the relevant tweets.
Our latest feature shows what searches this user also appears on, which is useful to quickly understand the context in which they tweet about topics.
Twendly is an implementation of our HiveMind people search engine which we are developing for Enterprise content. We wanted a way to easily demonstrate it, so we decided to index Twitter people.”
How’s it Different to Twitter Search
Binary Plex says
“We are really excited about the traffic we are getting on Twendly – it’s great to see people getting value from it.
Of course, in a world that is largely used to searching for documents, it can take a slight “twist” of thinking to easily understand the difference between a document Vs. a people search. We’d like to illustrate this with some examples.
In Twendly, put simply, you’re searching for the things people are talking about. If you search for your name, you’re searching for the person who talks about you the most, not necessarily yourself (unless of course you talk about yourself a lot!).”
