Interesting to watch the press circling the Labour Party like sharks preparing to pounce. Interesting the way serious journalists won’t let this story die down. Interesting the way those little snippets leak out of the woodwork.
Of course the man’s a bloody bully – that can’t be news to anybody. There has to be another reason why the press don’t laugh the story off. What do you reckon?
Way back in the halcyon days of Blair’s first government they got away with something akin to murder, figuratively. The entire bunch lied through their back teeth and Campbell bullied every member of the press. The threat was simple. Be nice about us or we’ll shut you out.
The hubris reached it’s peak over that poor man David Kelly, driven to suicide by the liars in the government. Journalists lost their jobs over that and the BBC lost the best Director General ever.
Now the awful truth about the Iraq war is made public by the Chilcott enquiry the press is quite rightly getting its own back.
The man who for 12 years proclaimed he’d abolished boom and bust (by conveniently changing his dates to suit) is in trouble. Mandy has engineered a come back with TV interviews of the bully crying but the press aren’t fooled.
They smell blood on the shirt of the wounded tyrant and are moving in to finally get rid of him.
Of course he’s a bully, and a liar and a cheat. And its time the people threw him out, together with the rest of the self serving, pretend socialists.
